Spring submissions are due January 20th, 2017. Please email all submissions in a PDF document to Andrea.

Knittin' Little is looking for Spring/transitional weather children's garments.

Our colors tend to lean towards modern and classic, rather than cutesy or cartoonish.

I try to round out each issue with an equitable number of pieces for both boys and girls. I’ll be looking for patterns for all experience levels. Only knitting patterns will be accepted for this issue (although we hope to include crochet as well soon!). I have decided to have smaller collections for the upcoming year to really have the designer’s pieces shine. I am looking for 2 pieces for boys, 2 for girls, and 2 unisex accessories.

Children’s pieces will need to be graded from at least sizes 2-12 (you may choose to include smaller baby/toddler sizes). Accessories will need to be done in sizes from baby to adult.

For more specific inspiration, check out the Knittin' Little Pinterest board.

Deadline: The deadline for submission will be January 20th. You will be notified soon after. Patterns and samples will be due beginning of August with the Fall collection releasing by late September.

Compensation/Support: If your pattern is selected for the Spring 2016 issue of Knittin' Little you will receive yarn support. KL will provide photography, layout, and tech editing. Samples will be returned to you after the issue goes live. You will receive 70% of all online pattern sales in perpetuity. Payments are made quarterly in January, April, July, and October.

Rights: You will retain the rights to your pattern. I will send you the edited, final copy of your pattern (in layout) which you are free to sell after its debut on the Knittin' Little site. Knittin' Little holds exclusive rights to sell your pattern through Ravelry and Knittin' Little.

Submission Requirements:
Please include the following in your submission:

  • A photo of your swatch
  • Sketch
  • Detailed explanation of your idea. Include inspiration and how you feel this will compliment the collection.
  • A bio and link to your Ravelry designer page and/or website
  • Contact information including email and mailing address.

Email me your submission. Make sure your name and email address are on every piece you submit.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have!
