At Knittin' Little we are just as excited to share the written word with our littles as we are the fiber. It has been said, "Children are made readers on the laps of their parents" (Emilie Buchwald) and perhaps truer words were never spoken. As an educator, it is so easy to see the students that come to school with the seed of loving books planted in their little hearts. As a mother and book lover, planting that seed in my son's heart has become a mission and great joy. Knittin' Little is here to help you on that mission.
From time to time, we will choose one children's book to feature for our book club. Along with a review, a knitting pattern is created, inspired by this book. In the following two to three weeks, we will share ideas to extend and enrich the sharing of this book. These enrichment activities focus on development of science, math, language, and motor skills.
If you have an idea for a book club feature, please contact us! We love to hear about new books that are exciting you.
