Climb Every Mountain

Andrea Sanchez

I love vests. I find them to be a super versatile piece in a child's wardrobe. Climb Every Mountain by Jessica Anderson is just that piece in our Spring 2016 Collection.

This sweet vest features a textured pattern that mimics mountain peaks and comes in seven sizes from 18 months to size 12. You can knit one for this year, and one for next year, and the year after!

I've also found that vests make that perfect, oh-my-goodness-I-forgot-today-was-picture-day-so-now-my-kid-has-nothing-to-wear thing to throw on over a collared shirt to make your little look pulled together. Jessica's design is simple enough to be worn everyday, or dress up and wear on special occasions.  Love that!

Knit in a Luna Grey's DK weight yarn Orion (100% superwash merino) it makes for a warm, yet lightweight layer. Even better, there's a SALE! That's right! Luna Grey Fiber Arts having a spring sale. Use the code SpringSale20 and receive 20% off all their regular priced yarn. This sale runs through the end of April so it's a great opportunity to get the yarn for your very own Climb Every Mountain vest.

I would love to see what color you choose for your vest. Please share it on Instagram using #knittinlittle and link it up on Ravelry

Antoine

Andrea Sanchez

It's always hard to know which pattern from a new collection to begin the sharing with. Especially in our new Spring 2016 Collection, each piece is so different from the rest. So I'm taking the easy way out and going in alphabetical order. That means starting with Antoine by Aurelie Colas

I've been getting a lot of questions about this piece: is it double knit, felted, what?! Here's the scoop. This amazing jacket is knit in two separate pieces then stitched together. Aurelie has included directions to a body that has pockets, and one that has no pockets. So really, if you don't feel like lining pockets you can do two pocketless versions, or just the body with no pockets and no inner jacket. The lining is stitched in very simply with fabric so as not to make the jacket any bulkier. What I'm really hinting at is don't let this scare you! There are so many different options in making this jacket that any knitter with some garment experience can make this.

Even better, Aurelie has provided a ton of support in photos and technique instruction on her blog!

This jacket was knit in Jamieson's Shetland Shetland Spindrift which is a fingering weight wool. Very sturdy, very wooly. The two layers make it reversible or a boy or girls (depending on where the buttons are placed). The sizes give ample room to layer a sweater underneath.

I really REALLY hope someone knits this jacket because not only do I think it is darling, but I'd love to see some other color versions. If that someone is you, please share it on Instagram using #knittinlittle and link it up on Ravelry

Spring 2016

Andrea Sanchez

It's here! It's here! It's here!

This has been a long time coming but I am finally able to say our Spring 2016 collection is live!

In this collection you will find 8 lovely designs. We have two darling accessories that you will love (and can knit for yourself as well if you'd like!). For the boys we have a warm jacket because even though it's spring, it's still snowing in some parts. We also have a comfy lace collared henley. For the ladies we have a lacy short sleeve cardigan, an amazing colorwork pullover, and a ribbed lace pullover as well. As always, you will also be able to find these patterns on Ravelry. Please show them and the amazing designers some love!

Stay tuned over the next two weeks as we take a look at each design. Happy knitting!

Spring is Coming!

Andrea Sanchez

I know many of you, like myself, had snow this weekend. Today we are headed to the Cleveland Indians' home opener in low 40 degree weather. Brr! But despite what the weatherman says, Spring really is coming. And so is our Spring 2016 collection.

This collection will feature a few knits for boys, girls, and even some cute little accessories! We have some new to Knittin' Little designers such as Joan Beebe (designer of the cute pullover above), and some designers you've met here before (Kristen Jancuk and Kristen TenDyke).

If you'd like to get a sneak peek of these designs, be sure to tune in to Periscope tomorrow at 2pm EST. You can find my (andrea_knits) scoping about ALL the new designs. I hope to see you then!
