Today we are looking at Hoke Henley, designed by Joan Beebe.
This pullover is knit in the round from the bottom up. The sleeves are picked up around the armholes and knit on making it seamless (hooray!). While I love a good stockinette project, Joan used a garter stripe in a contrast color to break up the fabric, add texture, and keep the knitting interesting. It is knit in Berroco Weekend DK, a light and breathable blend of acrylic and cotton. This yarn is perfect for spring. It is lightweight and has a lovely soft feel and is washable, making it a perfect choice for children's wear.
This is one of those pieces that looks even more darling once it is on the recipient. Once we got it on to photograph, I had my "Charms!" moment (that's my son's new exclamatory word of the month). This sweater with those little rolled up khakis? Super cute!
Joan wrote this up in sizes 6 months to 14! Talk about a wide range! Perfect for growing boys (and girls). The cord is just a twisted cord, very easy to make, but how cute would it look with a little leather tie in more fall/winter colors. Someone please do that!
