I wrapped up a super quick knit this weekend: a pair of baby socks! I'm still having a hard time believing a little pair of feet will fit in these.
I did most of the knitting (the leg and heel) in the car while we waited for a car wash Sunday (50 degrees in January in Ohio screams car wash) and the foot was done by bedtime. These are the speediest knit ever! Perfect for a last minute baby shower gift add on.
I used this baby sock recipe I wrote 3 years ago (!!!) when I knit these tiny Anzula socks for my niece. I think a lot of people have used this recipe, but always want more detail on how I actually worked the short row heel. So I it's time I finally update the instructions and I will have a free download for you by the end of the week!
In the meantime, the yarn is Lolo Did It in Abracadabra on her Everyday Sock. I LOVE this color. They used about 50 yards of the leftover half skein I used for D's little socks. Now that he's had them for a while I can say that the yarn has held up pretty well. We aren't very gentle on our hand knit socks over here but there has been only minimal fading and pilling. I just shaved them this weekend and they look good as new!
