Today we are looking at the 4th piece from our Fall Collection, Kid Chimera by Elizabeth Green Musselman. When I first saw this piece, it blew me out of the water! I love a good neckerchief styled cowl and Elizabeth's pattern has a TON of texture. It looks super fun to knit (I'm already on the hunt for yarn for my own), and the yarn she chose is pretty amazing.
What I really adore about this design is that is looks just as cute on a boy as it does a girl. I love accessories and since our goal is having an equitable number of boy to girl designs I really wanted Knittin' Little's accessories to be unisex. That is not necessarily an easy task but boy, did Elizabeth nail it or what?!
The yarn for this pattern is Leading Men Fiber Arts Dramaturg. It is a superwash DK weight in 100% merino. There is a great choice of colors (both variegated and semi-solid) but I really think Elizabeth's color choices are phenomenal. The red/blue one is in a color called Metamorphosis and the green/brown color is called That Somewhere.
There is also the possibility of this being worn as a hat! Unfortunately this was the last piece photographed and all the kids were kind of over the whole photo shoot thing at that point so we didn't get any useable shots. But I hear Elizabeth will be taking some more photographs when the hat gets back to her. I can't wait to see!
