Today's guest blogger is Jessie Ksanznak, designer of Hasu Hat.
I love to knit and crochet accessories and toys for kids. It is such a joy to see their smiling faces as they play with a new stuffed toy or wear a handmade hat or sweater. Often treasured hand knits can be passed from child to child or even generation to generation.
I have always loved flowers. Nature paintsour planet with so many beautiful colors and shapes. Often I am inspired by flowers when I knit. I love trying tor create the dramatic and organic beauty of the petals with yarn.
Hasu is the Japanese word for lotus and this hat is bursting with cute little lines of these stunning flowers. I love the interplay of the flower petals and the simple clean look of the Linen Stitch. I also find it magical how well both of these stitch patterns accentuate the beauty of this yarn. Rhinestone Cowboy by Magpie Fibers, is a dazzling color way and bold colors come alive with this hat.
I hope you enjoy knitting this pattern and that you make some special little one very happy and warm.
Thank you Jessie! I really love how this stitch pattern brings to life the colors in a variegated yarn rather than gets lost in it. And I especially love this colorway: Rhinestone Cowboy by Magpie Fibers. You can find more info about Hasu Hat here.
